ive been using accutane and its still not enough for my skin

i know chatgpt says not to, and the general consensus is one or the other, but can i possibly use tretinoin alongside my isotretinoin? ive been using accutane for a few years now and it hasnt been enough. i have rlly oily skin.

i think the dose might not be the problem but rather the course time, i think low dose iso for some years might fix it forever, without really compromising liver function tbh.

Based on the data I have read, the dose can actually make a huge difference despite time, people believe they can do a 20mg a day for a 3 years and get the same results as someone doing 60mg for year (mind both have the same accumulative dose) but when played out, the 60mg dose will always win in terms of future relapse rate and gland size reduction overall. A higher concentration dose generally leads more suppression as 20mg can only suppress so hard even tho its a longer treatment, while 60 can suppress even harder thus leading to less relapse in acne and oily skin and the research supports it

Its interesting, because majority of relapse happen more so from not a big enough dose than from not a long enough duration

its probably the solution, ive seen another case of running 120+ mg, nothing crazy happened but it's still kinda wild. Might be the only solution if the thyroid meds don't help.

i did dut for 3 months to see if anything changed, nothing did

ive ran accutane for probably over 2 years now, daily usage of 40-60mg

Your dose was not high enough for your hyper sensitive sabecuos glands to stay tight, your dose likely led your pores going back to the way they where before thus cause relapse (Getting acne again) update us on your Endo visit tho. But for your acne, from the research I read regarding accutane, relapse decrease when dose increase usually.
