SUGAR 101

Positives

Glycation and Facial Aging- An overabundance of sugar causes glycation, a process in which sugars attach to collagen and elastin. This causes the skin fibers to become rigid decreasing their elasticity and resilience. Gradually the face loses its capacity to maintain defined contours, around the midface and beneath the eyes leading to a lackluster aged appearance even, in younger people.

Skin Texture and Surface Quality- Excessive consumption of sugar deteriorates skin texture by elevating inflammation and disrupting sebum balance. This appears as coloration, acne and a "rough" texture that dulls facial contours. A clean structure appears appealing when skin condition is impaired.

Facial Puffiness and Water Retention -Sugar increases insulin levels, which encourages the body to retain sodium. This causes swelling in the face around the cheeks, eyelids and jaw area. The puffiness conceals the bone structure. Diminishes apparent definition decreasing PSL presentation despite strong underlying features.

Under-Eye Degradation- Sugar intensifies circles and the prominence of tear troughs by causing inflammation and reducing microcirculation. The skin around the eyes is thin and delicate; diets in sugar accelerate aging here more than, in most other parts of the face.

Jawline and Lower-Face Blur- Regular consumption of sugar encourages inflammation and fat accumulation leading to a softened jawline contour. This effect occurs without the need, for obesity. Slender people can also experience a loss of jawline definition because of fluid retention and swelling of soft tissues.

Acne and Scar Risk- Sugar elevates androgen levels and insulin-like growth factors aggravating acne in individuals prone to it (Could be a plus) Acne scars cause lasting damage, to appearance significantly outweighing the short-lived enjoyment of consuming sugar.

Facial Dullness - Consistently consuming diets rich in sugar is linked to a flattened facial appearance caused by diminished collagen quality and drooping tissue. This decreases the distinction between facial planes resulting in unflattering photographs and a less vibrant look, in person.

Positives

Facial Fullness and Youth Signal
- Consuming sugar, in moderation supports the preservation of glycogen and soft tissue fullness. Totally cutting out sugar may excessively hollow the face in those who are already slender resulting in a sunken or fatigued look not through collagen loss but more through a lack of inflammation

Cortisol - Sugar sharply decreases levels. Reduced cortisol can alleviate tightness jaw tension and stress-induced aging. Faces under stress age more rapidly than those, with moderate indulgence.

Athletic and Hormonal Support- For those who're physically active sugar aids in maintaining training intensity and testosterone levels indirectly by avoiding significant energy shortages. Extreme limitation may lower hormone production, diminishing vibrancy, as time passes.

Lip and Skin Hydration- Sufficient carbohydrate intake supports hydration levels. Individuals lacking carbs frequently exhibit chapped lips, lackluster skin and pronounced wrinkles all of which negatively affect appearance.

Elevated IGF-1- Sugar promotes igf-1 production due to insulin increase. It will also increase estrogen so the height benefit is dubious at best

As you can see the positives are fairly rare but do exist

These are way to reduce effects of sugar

Taking in sugar near exercise reduces puffiness and insulin surges. Ingesting sugar while inactive causes the harm to the face.

Low sodium can help to combat sodium reabsorbtion

Fruit and low-glycemic sources are far less inflammatory than refined sugars. Liquid sugars (sodas, juices) are the worst offenders for facial puffiness.

Sugar ingested by itself causes an insulin surge and increases facial puffiness. Combining it reduces these impacts and maintains the cosmetic advantages.

Cutting down sugar briefly before occasions enhances contours. Adding sugar back later brings back fullness.

Overall I think sugar is a massive looksmin especially long term, the main issue being collagen loss and inflamation. Any height increase will likely be temporary GH increase and counteracted by estrogen but I am looking into it further
