I’ve been hearing alot about a sugar diet to boost IGF-1???, Why not debunk it.
WHY SUGAR DOESNT BOOST IGF-1
Yes, glucose raises insulin which can raise IGF-1.
But research shows that when sugar intake is high: IGF-1 receptors become less sensitive. Heptatic growth hormone signalling decreases IGF-1 binding proteins (IGFBP-1), Which lowers free IGF-1
Meaning: More sugar = Less usable growth hormone. Not more.
WHAT THEY ACTUALLY DONT TELL YOU.
Chronic high sugar causes: Systemic inflammation - surpresses GH/IGF-1 Axis Leptin resistance - Reduces puberty related growth signalling - Lower GH output at night - less axial bone growth - Increased cortisol - Directly inhibits osteoblast activity.
So instead of “growth” The sugar diet creates hormonal noise, Not anabolic bone remodeling.
