In 2026, it is practically impossible not to end up overweight. We live surrounded by cheap, industrial, hyper-palatable food, available on every corner. Many of us grew up eating this way because it was the easy solution for our parents: fast, affordable, and functional. Nobody was thinking long term.

The problem is that now we are adults.

And in adult life we are judged by our results and physical appearance. Physical appearance matters. It has always mattered. And being overweight is one of the most common causes of ridicule, social devaluation, and bullying. Just think about how many fat jokes you constantly see in television, movies, or any form of entertainment.

It is a practical guide, ordered from simpler methods to more extreme ones, for those who actually want results.

1. Diet

I shouldn't even be going over this because wtf are you doing if you're not on a diet whilst trying to lose weight. There's a gazillion diets for each palate online. Personally I'd recommend a mostly carnivore diet with natural foods that come directly from nature (blueberries, salmon, steak, nuts, milk) but this isn't a must.

2. Enduring hunger

The first thing most people reject, and also the most basic.

You are probably thinking: “I’ve already tried that.” If you say that, chances are you didn’t really try. I’m talking about enduring 24 hours or more without eating.

Anyone who has fasted knows that the initial hunger is intense, almost unbearable. But the human body is designed to store energy. Within hours, the sensation of emptiness will go away, the hunger decreases, and you start consuming your fat reserves.

In my personal case (not a universal recommendation) I have gone up to four days without eating while training hard (multiple muscle groups to failure) before feeling real hunger again. The point is not to copy this. The point is to understand that hunger is not an emergency and you won't die because of it.

If you never learn to coexist with hunger, you will always be a slave to it.

3. Chewing gum

A simple tool, almost ridiculous, but effective.

The body is surprisingly easy to trick. The act of chewing activates satiety signals. That is why people are told to eat slowly. Gum works on the same principle, it reduces oral anxiety and helps smooth out hunger spikes.

Do not abuse it, too much can cause diarrhea.

4. Not buying junk food in the first place

This should be obvious, and yet almost no one applies it.

If you do not leave your house, spend your money, buy junk food, and bring it into your environment, you cannot consume it.

If you are trying to quit that type of food, do not buy it. And if you already have it at home, throw it away. Do not keep it “just in case.” You owe nothing to a product that is actively harming you.

Environment beats discipline 90% of the time. Design the environment in your favor.

5. Dopamine Maxxing

When we're hungry our body craves the dopamine of having that tasty food in our mouth. Turns out, in 2025, dopamine is pretty cheap and accesible via our phones. Everyone has heard of the insane ammounts of dopamine the short form content gives. I'm sure more than one of you here reading this thread can remember one time where you forgot to eat because you were lying in bed watching YouTube or TikTok. Basically we won't want to eat as much because our brain will alredy be as satisfied as when eating fod because of the dopamine.

Other options include caffeine which supresses hunger

6. Sleeping Beauty

I have done this method before but it is basically what Elvis did. Buy some over the counter sleeping pills from your local pharmacy, and skip dinner by going to sleep early and having sleeping pills. You literally can't eat if you're sleeping and the hunger sensation will be gone by morning. I recommend this the most if it's your first time fasting and the hunger is too much.

7. Ozempic / DNP / reta

Doesn't need much more explanation. You're going to use pharmocology and drugs to lose weight. I wouldn't recommend ozempic because you're going to get that zombie and unattractive look but it is a genuine method.
