What is the Randle cycle?
The Randle cycle describes how fats and carbohydrates compete for energy in the body. When one fuel is high the other will get blocked.
Your cells can burn:
triglycerides (fatty acids)
glucose (carbs)
but not efficiently at the same time.
The issue isn't fat or carbs alone but it's mixing high fat and high carbs consistently.
The combination of the two causes:
poor fuel switching
insulin resistance
metabolic stress
basically do not eat lots of fat with a lot of carbs.
