Tier List of Nose Parts

Tier 1 - God Tier

These 3 parts determine ≈80% of your nose fate / NOT IN ORDER (!)

¹ Lower Lateral Cartilages (Greater/Major Alar Cartilages=LLC)

Why is it so important as a whole?
- The single most important structure in the entire nose
It Controls tip shape, definition, projection, rotation, nostril shape, columella position, and how much your tip droops when you age or smile

² Maxilla

(especially anterior nasal spine + piriform aperture)

Why is it so important?
- Recessed maxilla makes even a perfect nose look weak, long and droopy
Controls nasolabial angle, alar base width, and how much support the columella gets
(You can have god-tier LLC but if your maxilla is recessed by 8 mm your nose will still look subhuman in profile JFL)

Waterfall
Forward-grown maxilla = short, projected, upturned nose (Greek/button)
Recessed maxilla = flat, long, down-turned nose even if LLC are decent (common in Asians)
Before + After Surgery

³ Caudal Septum

(lower front edge of septal cartilage+ Anterior Nasal Spine)

Why is it so important?
- it's basically a central pillar that keeps the tip from falling off your face
If these are trash you need tongue-in-crib grafts, extended spreader grafts etc..very hard to fully fix.

Long + strong caudal septum = naturally lifted, projected tip
Short, weak or deviated caudal septum = hanging columella, retracted columella or just droopy tip

Tier 2 - Important
(These decide the remaining ≈20%/lower tiers)

Skin thickness + sebaceous quality

Thin skin = every detail shows = easy to get sharp definition
Thick, oily, sebaceous skin = permanent bulbous tip, no definition even with perfect cartilage (common in Middle Eastern, some Jewish, some Black noses too lol)
Fun fact: Surgeons hates thick skin more than weak cartilage because you can’t thin it much without risking necrosis

Nasal bones length & height

Short nasal bones = saddle nose or illusion of hump
Long + long nasal bones = strong bridge, good starting radix, better overall projection
Determines if you can have a straight Greek
dorsum or if you’ll always have a bump :pepecheers:

Tier 3 - Secondary Importance

(not saying they are useless,it just means they are less important/dependant)

Dorsal septum decides if you have a hump or straight dorsum
Pitanguy’s ligament + interdomal ligament = final tip support, breaks with age = droop
Depressor septi muscles if hyperactive = smiling = tip goes down hard
Fibrofatty tissue layer if thick = extra bulbousness
Ethmoid perpendicular plate + vomer, only matters if crookedness

If not mentioned then it isn't very important

TLDR; if u have good T1's then you are very likely to have good nose

yep it's possible to change for better or worsen too, but it mostly likely won't change if the hump is bony ( feels hard if u know what I mean lol) ye but nasal Bones can't correct themselves after 16 , not gonna look for it now but once I was doing threads I saw some statistics on some rhino site that puberty humps change ( reduce or dissapear) in 50-60% of guys ,then 30ish stated it stays the same, and rest was that it get worse , it wasn't 60/30/rest but they were something like that
