Enough jestering and making water threads,Mandy is back with a full informative information.
I’m ending the retarded arguments that fat oxidation is more efficient, low carb retards hate to see Mandy coming.

First we will look deeply into the starting point where glucose utilization completely obliterates fat oxidation, ATP/O2 PR rate.
First of all, what exactly is the ATP/O2 PR rate? In short,it’s the rate of how much ATP you can generate with the rate of oxygen. The PO ratio (phosphate to oxygen) greatly determines this.
PO ratio of different ATP generation sources:

Glucose oxidation: 2.58-2.7 ATP per oxygen atom
Fat oxidation (palmitate): 2.33 ATP per oxygen atom
And what does this exactly prove? Mitochondria can more efficiently generate ATP using the same amount of oxygen with glucose than fat oxidation.

Benefits?
-Faster ATP generation
-increased CO2 production
-higher ATP throughput
-lower stress hormones
-lower ROS
-Activation of PDH

Low carb retards like to argue that fat oxidation of palmitate yields 3x more ATP than glucose, this is true with no denial. But generally this argument is useless due to what I’ve stated before on ATP/O2 PR rate and here’s why!

General ATP generation from different energy sources:

Glucose oxidation: ~32 ATP
Fat oxidation (palmitate):106 ATP

And that’s a huge difference, but why is this useless?

ATP demand isn’t heavily depended and based by the amount of molecules and general ATP is limited by enzyme and oxygen availability. Due to the better P/O ratio of glucose, glucose can be used more efficiently with the same oxygen amount than fatty acids. This leads to faster and more rapid ATP turnover which is ideal for tissues requiring fast energy. In terms of this, speed>quantity

Things that make fat oxidation worse is its increase in ROS. What this leads to:

-Increased superoxide (can metabolize into harmful compounds if levels are higher)
-More oxidative stress (more oxygen needed for ATP generation)
-A higher amount of prelipid oxidation

Glucose in comparison,is a way cleaner energy source for your cells.

This was it,I hope I don’t only get 2 reps for this since this is in my opinion the most High IQ thread I’ve made so far. Hopefully all low carb nigs will bow down to Ray Peat.

This thread made me think I had dyslexia but its the first big thread ive read all the way through in a while. Insanely high iq. I consistently see retards talking abt fasted cardio and limiting carbs for optimal fat burning.
