What is Treclinac?

Treclinac is a combination of Tretinoin and Clindamycine. It’s a prescription based product used to treat moderate to severe acne. Treclinac can come in more forms, but the most widely known one is gel based, which I’ll mostly talk about.

Ingredients
Clindamycine - works by fighting bacteria that causes acne.
Tretinoin - a retinoid that basically speeds up skin healing.

How does it work?

The two ingredients together reduce inflammation, bumps, pimples and clean pores, more specifically down below.
Clindamycine targets and slows down certain bacteria that contribute to inflammation in acne, therefore reducing red spots and lowering inflammation. Tretinoin clears clogged pores, smoothens and dries skin, helping clear blackheads and any oils.

How to use Treclinac?
Treclinac is usually applied in the evening. To apply it, you must first wash your face. When applying, don’t put too thick of a layer to, because a thicker won’t speed up the process. Also make sure to avoid sensitive areas, like eye area and nose.

How long until I see progress?
The effect of Treclinac can vary between every person depending on how severe the acne is. Some people can already see and feel effects after a week or two, but if you’re dealing with more severe acne, it can take even a few months. At first, the effect can seem of Treclinac can seem to worsen skin, but that’s only until your skin adapts and gets used to it, then you’ll start seeing the skin clearing effects.

Any possible side effects?
Yes, Treclinac does have side effects that would be kind of obvious.
  1. Dry skin
  2. Redness
  3. Skin peeling
  4. Irritation/itching
  5. Skin more sensitive

Routine tips?
After applying the gel in the evening, make sure to use a moisturiser in the morning, to possibly prevent some of the side effects. Use a gentle cleanser to wash your face before application for best results.

Compared to Accutane?
Treclinac is applied to skin, therefore only affecting skin. Accutane is swallowed as a pill, affecting the whole body. Accutane has similar side effects, just worse. Instead of making just your face skin dry, it does that to your whole body. Accutane can also give more nosebleeds and be worse for health. With Accutane you also need frequent bloodwork, unlike Treclinac, which only needs a few check ups to see if you even need it anymore. But Accutane has alot better and more powerful results compared to Treclinac.
