Depends person to person, if your skin barrier is weak you might have peeling and irritation, if so— do a sandwich with moisturiser, tret, moisturiser.
By June you will see a considerable difference, depending on severity, not clear

i just saw this but tysm for the help, i have moderate acne so it’s not too severe and i got it checked by a derm so im hoping it all works out in time.

would you recommend any specific moisturisers with specific ingredients? or would anything non fragranced work?

ohh nice, how long would u say it took for u to see results? i just looked it up and it’s a 0.1% tret percentage gel. i might slowly work my way up to that actually

If your skin barrier is damaged already and purging after 1 day, stop. Use it every second day, YOU MUST LAYER MOISTURISER UNDER!!.
Any moisturiser should work pretty well.
Good luck brah

They're different compounds, adapalene is weaker than 0.025 tret and works not as well, after a few months on tret, get a 0.1 tazarotene cream

ohh shit okay, every other day then + the moisturiser sandwich method. tysm, i really appreciate the advice.

apparently tret makes ur skin super sensitive to the sun tho as it’s a retinoid, so sunscreen on top of all that during the day would do the trick im guessing

It'll probably be worse by June because most folk purge on it, also id recomend using 0.05% after getting used to the 0.025% cream and only use it at night time so your face isn't very iratated, dry and red during the day

yes the timing of the purge is what im worried about mostly, i looked up some threads and it’s usually the worst around weeks 3-6

have u taken tret urself aswell? if u did which week(s) did ur skin purge at (if u remember when)

I took tret for 3 months then went on accutane, the purge lasted me about 4 weeks, if you take a antihistamine on tret it might stop the purge since it does that with accutane and theyre both retinoids
