One theory i've been looking into lately is the idea of psilocybin mushrooms, commonly known as “shrooms,” potentially being used to increase neuroplasticity.

as we know neuroplasticity refers to the brain’s ability to adapt, reorganise itself, and form new neural connections.(we already know this though jfl) If this process could be enhanced, it could theoretically become easier to alter deeply ingrained patterns of thinking and behaviour etc (for example it could help you ingraine a math formula in your head so you could easily master it)


this is genuinely high iq because i took time out of my day to research the way psilocybin functions in the body (mainly because im a druggie)

crazy thing is shrooms are also pretty fucking safe as well, esp compared to other drugs

ranked least toxic/dangerous for rec use, and has no addictive risks

psilocin is mainly metabolized by glucoronidation and not by MAO-A and MAO-B. I doubt MAOIs significantly alter psilocin's breakdown

also combining MAOIs (phenelzine or harmaline) with psilocybin can cause serotonin toxicity without doing anything for neuroplasticity.

Adderall promotes focus via dopamine and not structural plasticity. psilocybin increases dendritic spine density in preclinical models. the comparison is apples to oranges unless you specify which effect.

water + dnr, shrooms are already shown to increase the lfiespan of human cells in studies by upwards of 50% if im not mistaken.
