Step 1:
(School Name/ Major)
It is a Must you go to a Top 20 Uni, ideally a Top 10 Uni
(Below is links to schools you need to ideally attend before applying, if you cant see your school its over
)
Target Uni's
US List:

Euro List:

Major/Studies:
(It is recommend you double major in 2 Stem Fields):
-Computer Science + Statistics
-Math + Physics
-Statistics + Math
-Computer Engineering + Math
(Maintaining at least a 3.8 GPA is also a Must, and yes background checks will confirm GPA Upon Offer)

Step 2:
Putnam Exam
(Arguably one of the hardest math exams in the world)
Ideally you want to get at least a 20/120
Brutal Truth: the average score is a 0/120
The higher the better, jus having a high score on your resume will make Firms/Hedge Funds get a boner and blow your phone up asking to schedule a interview.
A common theme you will see with these Rice/MathCels is the fact they all went to MIT, meaning if your not even attending a good enough school to being with, the probability of you even preforming on this test is already lowered. More than half the top prefomers of this exam come from one school out of thousands who show up.

Step 3:
Before even applying, it is recommended you have some technical internships
(Ideally in Data Science or Software engineering to be competitive)
Ideally the internship should be in a FAANG or adjacent Company
So the ideal pipeline:
- Freshman year: Small no name internship while doing research
-Sophmore year: FAANG adjacent internship in software engineering/ Data science
-Junior year: Quant internship
-Senior year: Return offer
The ideal profile of a quant:
Networking:
In this day n age networking is basically a meme, when you go to a stop school that alone will be your official network that you can leverage for opportunities, there no way of networking into quant, its not a thing, you either 130 IQ+ or not and it will show
