Chewing correctly is one of the most underrated ways to get hollow cheeks, especially if your bone mass is on the lower side. I’ve seen tons of advice floating around looksmaxxing communities, but most people just say ‘chew more’ without actually showing you how—it’s like handing someone a fish but never teaching them how to fish. In this thread, I’m going to break down exactly how to chew properly so you actually see results.
Poor chewing, like letting your tongue droop down, your jaw drop, or overusing one side of your mouth, does more harm than most are aware. Instead of providing structure, it trains your buccinator muscles to balloon out, so your cheeks are puffy and your cheekbones are hidden. Over time, this chronic poor muscle activation pulls your mid face down, flattens your maxilla, and makes your jaw and cheek area look softer and weaker. Even if you’re fit or slim, lazy chewing combined with low tongue posture creates a rounded, baby like face instead of the hollow, sharp look that defines strong cheekbones.
It's almost like cutting clay wrong: the muscles that are meant to support and lift your mid-face become loose, while the wrong areas puff up, covering your bone structure. That's why posture, tongue position, and conscious chewing all matter more than fat or heredity, your face actually sculpts itself according to your habits.
Even if you have high bone mass or naturally prominent cheekbones, chewing lazily and keeping your tongue low can still make your zygos look slightly less projected. It won’t destroy your structure, but poor muscle use and mid-face posture can soften the appearance, so even strong bones benefit from proper chewing, tongue placement, and posture to really stand out.
So yeah, we’re focusing solely on chewing here. Let’s dive in and really learn how to do it properly.
𝟭. 𝗧𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:
Always keep your tongue pressed against the roof of your mouth in a gentle suction hold. This is the foundation for lifting your mid-face and preventing your cheeks from puffing out.
Suction hold guide:
𝟮. 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲:
Chew slowly and evenly on both sides of your mouth. Focus on letting your jaw and mid-face muscles do the work, rather than letting your cheeks expand. Avoid lazy bites or chewing primarily on one side.
𝟯. 𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆:
Dedicate at least one hour a day to conscious, focused chewing during meals.
𝟰. 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁:
Maintain good head and neck posture while chewing. Upright posture ensures your tongue stays in the correct position and maximizes the lifting effect on your mid-face.
This is it!
This is it. Now I’m guilt-free, because I always wanted to help you guys, especially the ltns chew correctly so they don’t end up at the subhuman level with chubby cheeks.
The end.
