Questions:

  1. If I pierce a 30 ml vial of bacteriostatic water once, draw 1.5 ml, and then leave the vial untouched at room temperature for several weeks or months – is the remaining water still safe to use later? Or does the 28‑day clock start after the first puncture regardless of how much I take?
  2. Does bacteriostatic water "die" or become unsafe simply because it was punctured once and then left alone, or is the 28‑day rule mainly about repeated punctures and contamination risk?
  3. For reconstituted teriparatide stored in a refrigerator – is 28 days a hard limit after which it definitely degrades, or can it remain effective for 60–90 days if the solution stays clear and aseptic technique is used?
  4. In practical home use with a single patient – what is the real safe storage period for an opened vial of bacteriostatic water and for reconstituted teriparatide?
Thank you.
