Hey all, I am a 48-year-old man, architect, with a quite classic style: every day, I wear a shirt, blazer, pleated pants and tassel loafers.
Currently, I have a classic men’s haircut, short with a parted side.
For a while, I’ve been thinking about getting a perm to be curly. I would like to be very tight curled, backward, with a lot of volume. With my wife, we have already seen very well-dressed businessmen with perms, and personally we really like this style : really permed like old lady’s perm. I would then like to keep this curly cut permanently, by doing perms very regularly, to always have a flawless curly cut.
My wife advises me to go to my mother-in-law’s hairdresser, who is a women-only hairdresser, telling me that she will succeed in giving me beautiful perms. I am really up for taking the plunge, but I have a little apprehension at the office because I know that many colleagues will be surprised to see me curled and permed, being a man with classic style.
How will a classic-style man, like me, be perceived with an old lady's perm?
Would you have any advice on how to handle this haircut change? Maybe talk to them before? Any advice? Thank you.

because your current haircut is very traditional the contrast will be big, so it would cause curiosity at first.

Man, if you have a wife you shouldn’t be in an incel place like this in the first place. But if you show your face, then it would be easier to say if curly hair fits you
