Why not just prevent them from making guides/informative threads for a set amount of time? Limit tag usage until they're "ready". They may still post threads that are guides even without tags — so enforce on-topic discussion harsher. A 48 hour or week cooldown just encourages people to not bother coming back. The vast majority of users will just forget about this forum or discuss how it's cucked on other forums. No-ones going to read rules or educate themselves during the meantime, ideally they should, but no-one will. I can say if i got met with a 48 hour cooldown I'd of just never came back. I was "dipping my toes in the water" per se with a new community, and amongst other jewery, impatience is quite high-ranking.

What about quality reminders when they post their first few threads? Say, they make a thread & click post. They'll be met with a criteria that asks them "Does your thread meet XYZ? If not, revise/rethink the thread". Proper vetting should solve the need for this anyways though so it's made redundant.

Good point. Limit their privileges to respond to guides
it's not just guides, question evens
atp we're blocking everything but off-topic, which could be an idea
maybe unlocking only ratings, and 48 hour cooldown on looksmaxxing section

Not too good. People like lord, and lord of crime, and well no-one else. Forget that then JFL

But still, it's harsh. I think the priority should be to perfect vetting to a level where this bullshit isn't required
