Im currently 14,15 in 3 months i have big overbite but lowkey nice forward growth i can get braces but alot of people say that braces ruin ur face they say that im gonna have recessed mandible and shi but idk if it is true

I’m wondering the same but something you should double check is, is it an overbite or an overjet? Because I was also under the illusion I had “nice forward growth” but you could just be recessed in both the maxilla and mandible while the flare gives you the illusion of a a forward maxilla

But yeah unless you extract, which you most likely will need to if your overbite is big it shouldn’t harm you too much since it focuses on alignment

If it’s a problem with the mandible and your top teeth are straight just forward you’re better off getting a herbst appliance to bring your lower jaw forward since you’re still young enough for it to work

And then braces after or during it, discuss with an ortho if possible

It depends on the severity of your bite. Unless you extract teeth (which you will most likely need if your over bite is quite severe and or you have a bad over jet) your face will not flatten/recess as braces should align your teeth instead of retracting your mid face. You will be fine and there is no need to worry, just in case voice your concerns to your Orthodontist.
