Summary for DNR enjoyers:Too many low-effort threads are cluttering the forum. I suggest adding a system (like a timer + reaction requirement) to remove or hide low-quality posts, or move them to a separate section. This wouldn’t censor anyone, just improve organization and overall thread quality. It might only be necessary if the forum grows more.
A big percentage of threads are low effort, repetitive questions, or simple requests that just clutter the thread list. I’m not saying those kinds of posts shouldn’t exist at all—discussion is important—but it becomes a problem when they flood the main feed and make it harder to find actually valuable content.
I know BOTB already exists, but this post is more about very low-quality or borderline spam threads that still end up flooding the main sections.
One possible solution could be adding a timer to threads. If a post doesn’t reach a certain amount of reactions within that time, it gets removed.
Or alternatively, instead of deleting them, those low-reaction threads could just be hidden or moved to a separate section. That way, nothing is truly lost, but the main page stays cleaner and more focused on higher-quality discussions.
I know reactions aren’t a perfect measure of quality, but they’re still a simple way to filter what people actually engage with. This wouldn’t be about censoring posts, just organizing them better and reducing clutter.
Also, this wouldn’t stop people from posting or asking questions—it would just encourage putting a bit more effort into posts, especially in the main sections.
I think something like this could improve both the quality of discussions and the overall browsing experience without killing activity.
At the same time, I understand that this could make the forum look empty if it’s not active enough yet, so maybe something like this would only make sense if the forum grows more.
Maybe this isn’t even a real problem and just something that bothers me because of my “ND”, so don’t take it too seriously if I’m the only one who sees it this way.
