Operational Justification & Benefits:
Raid Response Protocol
Authorizes a designated trusted subordinate to execute thread deletions and user bans with expedited efficiency, neutralizing raider incursions under my direct authority.
Dramatically eases raid control; currently manageable as we ban the raiding chuds and clear their threadsright away, but it still disrupts the forum for around half an hour to an hour with junk threads filling the new threads section,
& leads to collateral damage (extra warnings/temp bans on innocent users suspected of being involved in the raid).
Keep in mind, he isn't still banned for this reason; it's because his warnings accumulated, and he was temporarily banned just today. Regarding the 30-minute temporary ban compensation, two of his junk threads were also removed without warning yesterday.
It also enables seamless handoffs when I log off to sleep or attend meetings, especially if
prevents raids, child porn, gore, etc., during 0-mod windows.
Junk Post Suppression & quality control
Enables quick moderation of excessive spam, wrong section, or low-effort junk posts and aids forum quality control.
And allows better feedback and more consistent moderation.
When there are an overwhelming amount of threads in the wrong section or some low-effort junk, and I’m busy with real-life projects while keeping the forum open in a tab, I can delegate powers to the selected trusted users who are willing to assist me.
Tho I almost always try to write custom warning DMs so that users get feedback in DMs, and improve their behavior to ensure forum quality.
Cleanse the forum while also addressing their flawed reasoning and nonsensical questions in the warning DM's additional comments.
but unfortunately my fucked up mood or fatigue influences warnings points sometimes, leading me either 5% of the times just using the default vague useless warning template / just the warning title and no DM, resulting in no feedback for the users or just slight over-warning because of frustration/fatigue.
Cuz its just annoying to do this constantly: evaluating content, filling 4 boxes, copy-pasting custom templates 100+ times a day & then looking for discrepancies in the warning title/reason/DM after being already tired from overseeing business projects IRL.
on the contrary, when mod permissions are delegated to another individual, they are far more inclined to exercise caution, issuing consent warnings and constructive feedback to users. Because of their lighter workload, the tempered excitement of nascent authority, an probationary mindset.
Other Benefits:
An enjoyable forum experience for me. Instead of it just being like a frustrating chore, so I can actually engage in this forum instead of just deleting junk and warning users all the timeMore consistent warnings and moderation.+We also receive training and reports on these temporary mods, providing us with more data on users, helping us when we expand the mod team. This temporary command transfer ensures seamless defense & moderation of the forum, with all actions executed explicitly under my authority and revocable at my discretion.
