Your chin wont get narrower, your maxilla will get wider. You'll only have a narrow chin if you already have a narrow chin since ur chin wont change at all so in contrast will be narrower since the maxilla gets wider.

downside are
- gap in ur front tooth
- pressure/discomfort
- gum recession (possible)
- lifetime retainers are required

I’m getting a palate expander installed due to my crossbite, one of the people I told said I’m going to have a narrow chin but a wide maxilla. I want to know if this is a possibility? And all the downsides of orthodontics.
yeah its possible but its also possible that your jaw adapts. otherwise a palate expander is never a bad thing :dicapriolaugh:

yeah or else ur teeth tend to shift back. lifetime retainers aren't what u think tho, its more like you have to wear it everyday for the 1st year and then after that night time only and then long term a couple nights a week
