Aight first off this is ideal mainly for people with Wavy (2a-2c) hair from my own experience, if you have a similar hair type then you may see
positive results from this stuff aswell

This guides ain't gonna really go crazy in depth into hair science and stuff but yeah anyways:

HAIR POROSITY:

Hair porosity is basically how easily your hair can absorb and retain moisture which is necessary
for it to be healthy.

To test your porosity, you just place a few hairs in some water and let it sit for a bit (about 15 mins or so), depending on where its at in the
water should indicate your porosity.

There are 3 types:

Low Porosity:

Low porosity is commonly found in curly and coily hair, it makes it hard for the hair to absorb and retain moisture
so moisturizing and hydrating products are necessary. This hair is prone to getting puffy and frizzy and is hard to style.

Medium Porosity:

Medium porosity is ideal, as it lets moisture absorb and be retained easily making it somewhat easy to style and manage

High Porosity:

High porosity absorbs and retains moisture extremely quickly, but its like a sponge that can't hold water which
means its prone to dryness, frizzyness and breakage. Sealing products and protein treatments are needed for this type.
Some say Coconut Oil is quite helpful aswell.

WHAT CAUSES DAMAGED/LOW QUALITY LOOKING HAIR:

There are a few really common culprits that i see everywhere:
- Drying too roughly with a towel
- Using a really low quality shampoo
- Overshampooing (The main culprit)
- Hair being too dry
- Not getting enough protein in your diet

Anyone who has hair that looks bad can definitely trace it back to at least one of these.

ROUTINE TIPS:

- Shampoo your hair no more than 2x a week, 1x a week ideally;
Overshampooing leads to:
either really dry hair or excessively oily, thin looking hair and potentially dandruff.

- Oiling your hair 1x a week, this is for people who have dry and frizzy hair and is quite helpful for
giving your hair a healthy shine.

- Deep conditioning your hair if you have really constantly dry hair and this is for more curly types, DO NOT DO THIS ALOT,
ONCE A MONTH IS MORE THAN ENOUGH.

For those who dont know, deep conditioning is basically using a really thick conditioner to intensely hydrate your hair

- Using high quality shampoo and conditioner is quite important, I see all this hype around BASED but tbh i think its overhyped as shit,
Haven't tried it so i can't say.

- Using Leave in Conditioner to keep your hair hydrated, I use the brand 'As I Am' and its pretty budget and still a good product. It can be
used as a pre-styler and is best used applied to wet hair. NOT SOAKING WET but wet enough for product to absorb.

- Don't abuse products. I personally prefer water based products so that I can wash them out with water like 90% and they don't
produce loads of build up on your scalp. That brings me to my next point.

- SHAMPOO PROPERLY! Its a misconception that Shampooing is just rubbing the shampoo all over your hair, when its about cleaning your scalp
so use your fingers to rub your scalp in circular motions and NOT ROUGHLY.

- Let your hair air dry after a shower or use a cold setting hair dryer. Towels are always just asking for trouble and heat obviously isnt ideal for hair.

- Eating a good amount of protein is essential for hair health, also other vits and minerals like Iron, Zinc, Biotin are also necessary to include in your diet

I think i covered all the really fundamental stuff but lmk if i missed anything out. safe.
