Measuring Facial Harmony

IMG_0783.jpeg

Facial harmony is the balanced and proportionate relationship between contrasting features on your face - and how well they “fit together”. This has all to do with symmetry, proportions, alignment, and feature integration.

When first meeting someone, people subconsciously notice balance and proportions in other’s faces. Harmonious faces are much more perceived as more attractive and approachable, which can highly affect social interactions. Plus say you have really shitty features but they somehow fit well together, then it doesn’t even matter you have bad features, you still look good due to your harmony.

When it comes to harmony, your ratios play a big role; here you will find all ratios and their ideality.

ESR: 0.443-0.477
Facial Thirds: Cant deviate by more than 3.5 from 33%, 36.5 maximum lower third height

One of the best working sites to find your ratios, may have some slight inaccuracy. If you want full accuracy follow these steps:

First download the image meter app, then measure your philtrum and the bottom of your nose, back up 1 arm lengths distance and take a picture. (This will cause the least distortion possible). Then click on option scale reference, and wallah you have it.
