Lookism Forums Are Bad!😡
“we argue that looksmaxxing and similar self-improvement communities harm the health of the men who participate in them.”
ofc “we argue”.. but not even a “can”

Reminder

It’s on PubMed and they say so ≠ therefore what they say is accurate
this applies to non sociology literature too

From my experience I presume lots of people use PubMed by scrolling down to the conclusion and taking it as truth,
or doing other strange things that result in them coming to a bad conclusion without properly looking at the study design, data, etc.

this paper is a nice lil example for people who have fallen victim to this

tldr
PubMed is a database for academic literature. (ofc)
lots of people use the site terribly
&
could learn to interpret the information and use the site lots better
