What I'll be going over:
-Acne fixes
-Skincare
-Scarring, hyperpigmentation, post inflammtory erythema solutions
-How blood affects the skin
-Good Lifestyle Habits
-Supplements
-Peptides
ACNE:
Acne is a common skin condition where your skin pores clog resulting in blackheads, whiteheads and painful puss filled pimples
TYPES OF ACNE:
CYSTIC- deep pus filled pimples and nodules that can cause scarring
FUNGAL- built up yeast in your hair follicles that causes bumps that are itchy and inflamed
HORMONAL- affects people with hormonal imbalances by producing too much sebum which clogs the pores
NODULAR- severe form of acne that causes nodular bumps underneath the skins surface as well as pimples on the surface
Along with these there are also blackheads and whiteheads but I assume you know what those are.
SOME CAUSES OF ACNE:
-stress
-using the wrong skincare
-high humidity
-Tight fitting head gear such as helmets
-improper sleep
-bad diet
-poor hydration
-putting dirt hands/objects on face
-side effects of medications
-hormones, acne can be caused by androgen hormones especially testosterone, this combined with bacteria on your skin and oils produced by your body may result in acne
TOPICAL SOLUTIONS (kinda cope)
-Salicylic acid
-Benzoyl peroxide
-Azelaic acid
-Retinoids
-Antibiotics
-Dapsone
ORAL SOLUTIONS
-Antibiotics such as, doxycycline, minocycline and tetracycline
-Accutane(isotretinoin)-literal god send for skin
SKINCARE (sorta cope tbh)
This section will be very short from what I've found all you need is a simple skincare routine which consists of a good cleanser and moisturizer and a sunscreen that suits your skin type
**Don't expect skincare to clear up your skin alone if you have bad acne just hop on accutane**
FIXES FOR SCARRING/HYPERPIGMENTATION AND ERYTHEMA
-There are topicals out there that may help with these issues such as retinoids or azelaic acid but these methods are slow and kind of cope so we will be focusing on treatments
LASER/RESURFACING TREATMENT
As you can see these treatments can net great results
LASERS:
CO2- focuses on deep resurfacing
ERBIUM- focuses on gentler resurfacing
PULSED DYE- focuses on vascular imperfections
FRACTIONAL- focuses on treating microscopic columns for broader improvement
INTENSE PULSED LIGHT- offers broad spectrum light therapy for pigmentation and redness, though it is not seen as a laser
CHEMICAL PEELS:
-works by applying a controlled amount of an acidic solution on your skin and then when it peels off it damages and exfoliates the tops layers of your skin which triggers cell turnover and reveals smoother and brighter skin.
SUBCISION:
-you can use subcision for acne scars and it works by using a needle to break the fibrous bands that tether depressed to deeper skin layers which allows for the skin to lift and even out while also triggering collagen production leading to a smoother texture over time
FILLERS:
-works by being injected directly into indented and deep scars to lift them making the skin surface layer appear smoother while also stimulating collagen depending on what type of fillers you get for a better look over time
EXCISIONS:
-This procedure is done for deep pitted scars such as ice pick scars and other deep scars and it works by using a tiny tool to cut out the scarred/damaged tissue then closing the hole with a stitch to create a flat, even less noticeable scar that's easier to fix with other treatments like lasers
MICRO NEEDLING:
-works by creating controlled injuries with small needles that triggers your skins healing process which means the production of new collagen and elastin to fill in scars creating more even skin texture and is generally safe for many skin tones
**Of course do your own research to see if you are an eligible suiter for anything listed above**
HOW BLOOD CAN MAKE OR BREAK YOUR SKIN
Blood is actually a component that I've seen a lot of people overlook when it comes to skin and I'll explain how to optimize your blood.
GOOD BLOOD FLOW:
-good blood flow can give a healthy glow and radiance to your face making it look more youthful and better it can also bring an even skin tone by delivering nutrients for a brighter complexion. Also plumpness and firmness is also effected by your blood flow because blood flow stimulates collagen which reduces fine lines keeping the skin look young and fresh. Finally with good blood flow you can expect efficient waste removal which prevents toxins from building up that may cause blemishes.
BAD BLOOD FLOW:
-Bad blood flow means a lack of vital oxygen and nutrients which makes skin look dull or grey. Also bad blood flow means slow micro circulation under the eyes which can cause dark circles and fluid retention. Thirdly the inability to remove toxins and waste can cause blemishes and breakouts due to clogged pores. Finally with reduced collagen production from lack of blood flow, fine lines and sagging skin becomes much more evident and age indicators expedite
TO IMPROVE BLOOD FLOW:
-exercise-boosts circulation everywhere
-you could do a facial massage to stimulate blood flow and drain lymphatic fluids but results would be temporary
-hydration and a healthy diet-eating nutrient rich foods paired with proper hydration can improve circulation
-deep breathing-increases oxygenation
-proper posture
GOOD LIFESTYLE HABITS:
This section will be short because I assume you've all heard this same information before but in case you haven't
GOOD HABITS
-sleep 8-10 hours every night this allows for your skins regenerative properties to kick in while you rest which is when they are working lots
-good diet, a good diet can reduce inflammation in the gut which can decrease acne and it can also stabilize your blood sugar with low glycemic foods and if you pair this with limiting processed food sugar and dairy it can decrease oil production and breakouts
-Good hydration can balance oil production, flush toxins and supports the immune system to fight bacteria while promoting stronger cell turnover and keeping the skins protective barrier strong
-not touching your face with hands or dirty objects, this will make it so dirt is less likely to clog your pores
-washing pillowcases/bedsheets regularly, I would say you should wash your pillowcase at least once every week and your sheets every one to two weeks and adjusting to closer wash days if you have oily skin. Also you should use silk pillowcases
-Manage stress (ik this may be hard but try to)
-Use skincare in the morning and at night and don't use exfoliants everyday as this can strip your skin. Make sure you are gentle when cleansing and applying a nice amount of moisturizer.
-Shower everyday
-Regularly clean your phone to avoid bacteria building up
SUPPLEMENTS:
There are a numerous amount of supplements that can supply your skin and body with the minerals and vitamins that it needs to maintain good skin and I will list them here
-Omega-3 fatty acids
-Gamma Linoleic acid
-Specific strains of probiotics
-Carotenoids
-Turmeric (Curcumin)
-Vitamin A
-Vitamin B complex
-Vitamin C
-Vitamin D
-Vitamin E
-biotin
-chromium
-iron
-selenium
-zinc
-resveratrol
-flavanoids
This wraps up the supplements section
PEPTIDES:
There are some peptides that can help with skin appearance as well
COPPER PEPTIDES: (GHK-CU)
•This copper binding peptide works by binding to copper ions which stimulates blood vessel and nerve outgrowth, increases collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycan synthesis, as well as supports function of dermal fibroblasts. GHK's repairative properties can be demonstrated for skin, lung connective tissue, liver and stomach lining.
GHK ABILITIES
-tighten loose skin
-repair protective skin barrier
-improve skin firmness, elasticity and structure of aged skin
-smooth rough skin
-reduce photo damage, mottled hyperpigmentation, skin spots and lesions
-improve overall skin appearance
-stimulate wound healing
-protect skin cells from UV radiation
-redice inflammtory and free radical damage
-increase hair growth and thickness, enlarge hair follicle size
SIGNAL PEPTIDES: (Matrixyl,Tripeptide-1)
•Matrixyl works by acting as messengers for skin cells signalling that damage has occured even without actual injury. The signal tells your skin cells to ramp up production of collagen. It also supports your skins natural repair mechanisms helping to replace lost collagen and strengthen extracellular matrix resulting in a thicker smoother skin.
ENZYME INHIBITOR PEPTIDES (Triflouroacetyl tripeptide-2, soy peptides, rice peptides, and a few Oligopeptides such as oligopeptide-68)
•I will be focusing on soybean peptides. Soybean peptides work by stimulating fibroblasts(skin cells) to increase the production of new collagen and elastin. Soybean peptides can inhibit matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs) enzymes that break down collagen, helping to preserve the skins structural integrity. Also they protect against radical damage from UV exposure and reduce inflammation, reducing redness and preventing premature aging. Finally they can inhibit tyrosinase which is an enzyme needed for melanin production which can lead to brighter skin by reducing dark spots and fighting hyperpigmentation.
This is a study of soybean peptides/proteins healing wounds in rats.
There are also Neurotransmitter peptides that relax muscle contractions to reduce fine lines.
This is the end of the thread, thank you for reading this far and viewing my thread. Let me know if there's anything I can change/improve.
This took awhile so rep would be appreciated
