Apologising ahead for this being a shorter thread than I wanted it to be, I didn’t have much time to make it and will now work on other threads aswell.
I have made a previous thread about “naturemaxxing” but it wasn’t really the best, as it only talked about grounding and nothing more.
I have been wanting to make this new and improved thread for a long time, almost a month now, but haven’t found the time.
This is also the reason I haven’t been online much, apart from making some posts a day, if I even post.
In this thread, along with grounding, I will be going over many more parts, which all form naturemaxxing.
Naturemaxxing as a whole is one of the best softmaxxes, as it can drastically improve your health, therefore leading to better looks and even emotions/mental health.
Grounding
Grounding means making contact with the ground, walking on grass, soil, sand or stone barefoot, lying on the ground etc.
As I’ve said before
Your nervous system has 2 branches,
1. Sympathetic - stress, increased heart rate and cortisol.
2. Parasympathetic - calm slower heart rate, relaxed state.
Most people spend much of their time in sympathetic mode. This is important because grounding (skin contact with grass) seems to increase your body’s parasympathetic nervous branch in activity.
Barefoot contact with the ground can also increase awareness, which lowers mental stress.
Some theories say, that because of The Earth’s electrical charge being negative, meaning free electrons, those electrons them transfer to your body, helping balance your body’s electromagnetic energy level with The Earth’s.
Although this theory isn’t proved 100% true yet, it’s possible and still early science studies.
Grounding helps regulate cortisol, which reduces biochemical stress. Grounding also helps lower heart rate, relax muscles, relieve joint pain, could reduce inflammation and also regulates your circadian rhythm, leading to better sleep and more energy.
Some grounding mattresses have also been invented, so grounding continues when you’re asleep.
Circadian rhythm / sleep
The circadian rhythm controls your body’s sleep schedule, body temperature, sleep quality, energy and much more.
First, as mentioned before, it controls your sleep schedule, body temperature and sleep quality, but it also controls your morning cortisol levels, affects your testosterone by regulating it and also getting it higher. With a good circadian rhythm, your skin can also heal faster, giving you better skin quality.
How to know if your circadian rhythm is good or bad?
If your circadian rhythm is good, you will have higher testosterone, less cortisol during the night and when waking up, you sleep more deeply and recover better.
If your circadian rhythm is bad, you will notice it very well, when sleeping becomes unnatural and messed up. Your testosterone levels will drop, while your cortisol rises in the morning and at night. Your skin can also get worse, as the healing gets slower.
Sunlight exposure
Sunlight exposure is pretty self explanatory, it just means being out in the sun and getting sunlight.
Sunlight can be very good for you in many different ways, tanning, hair, circadian rhythm, blood and testosterone, which I will all talk about.
Like grounding, sunlight exposure also helps with circadian rhythm. In the morning, when your eyes see the sunlight, your body naturally wakes up with more energy. In the evening, when the sun sets, the sky and clouds are red, your body gets a signal that it’s time to go to sleep, making you naturally more tired. This regulates your circadian clock leading to better sleep and higher energy levels.
Tanning is a really good softmax that gives your face more coloring, therefore more appeal. Tanning works by The Sun’s UV rays, specifically UVA rays penetrate a deeper layer of your skin cells, the skin responds by signalling melanocytes, which increase melanin production, making your skin darker. If you tan incorrectly and for too long, it can also cause skin damage and/or skin cancer.
The Sun’s effect on hair is also really good and a simple softmax if your hair is already blonde or dark/dirty blonde. The Sun’s effect here is similar to tanning, but here, instead of making your hair darker, it becomes lighter.
Your hair is dead tissue once it leaves the root, so damage from The Sun is permanent. Here, UV breaks down melanin instead of signalling more of it, so your hair will look more blonde. Baby Stickley has also talked about this method and promoted it in his guide.
Your blood can also be improved by The Sun, but not as much as other things. The effect it has on your blood is short lived, lasting only for a few hours, depending on how long you stay out for. The Sun can temporarily lower your blood pressure and also gives vitamin D.
The Sun also really affects your testosterone with vitamin D. Vitamin D is not just a vitamin, it’s also a steroid hormone in a way. Vitamin D receptors are found in Leydig cells, which produce testosterone. Your circadian rhythm also affects testosterone levels. Like said earlier, you can change your circadian rhythm with sunlight, as it signalls your body when it’s time to sleep or wake up. Your testosterone levels are highest in the morning. Morning sunlight and evening sunlight both regulate your circadian rhythm, which boosts your testosterone levels along with deep sleep.
Daytime sunlight also helps you focus more clearly, through the blue light exposure.
Cold air exposure
Cold air exposure is also pretty self explanatory, it’s just being in cold air.
You can get cold air exposure from going outside in the winter when it’s cold; sleeping in a cold room or having windows open to let cooler air in, ice baths also work but not too recommended.
Cold air can boost your brain activity, improve focus, clear brain fog similar to sunlight exposure.
Cold air can also temporarily improve your looks. Cold air causes tissue contraction, which helps with lymphatic drainage and closing your pores.
Debloating also works best in winter, as your face has less capillary pressure, less fluid leakage and less inflammation.
Cold air gives your face more contrast too.
In a cold environment, your cheekbones, jaw and eyes appear larger, but you don’t gain any actual bonemass.
To get the best results from this, you should go outside in the cold air for at least 30 min every day and sleep in a cool room. If overdone, it can also be bad for you. Worse sleep, catching illnesses and even raising cortisol.
Fresh air
Fresh air is also a small, but important part of naturemaxxing. Although fresh air itself isn’t as beneficial to your looks as other things I’ve talked about, it’s still good for your health and can have a good effect on your looks. Outside air has a bit more oxygen. When you’re outside, you naturally breathe deeper and slower, helping you breathe more clearly.
When you get more fresh air through better breathing, it helps your body relax and lower cortisol which can improve your looks over time. Fresh air gets your body more ready for sleep, also improving your circadian rhythm and sleep quality.
Clean fresh air helps clear your brain, sharpen memory and improve focus.
Fresh air is typically best in forests, where trees and plants clean air through photosynthesis.
And again, sorry for this being shorter than I hoped. Originally, I wanted this to be 1.5x longer but due to my time being taken up by other things, I couldn’t do that.
Any feedback appreciated
