I hate it when normies casually talk about getting surgery, what’s irritating isn’t the surgery itself . it’s the disconnect between their fantasy and their actual circumstances. Most of them are essentially LARPing aspirations that don’t align with their socioeconomic reality.
Cosmetic procedures require three things normies rarely have: disposable income, recovery time, and a family environment that can provide either support or financial cushioning. If someone had all three, odds are they’d already be living a noticeably different life, and elective surgery wouldn’t be a conversation topic. it would simply be a choice they make.
So you end up with people daydreaming about operations they can’t fund, can’t take time off to recover from, and wouldn’t receive any practical support for. It becomes less of a plan and more of a coping ritual , a way to feel “in control” without actually committing to any life changes. And that disconnection from reality gets tiring to listen to.
