underrated thing is hair masks.

What is hair mask?

Basically a deep conditioning treatment for your hair. Think of it like a more concentrated version of conditioner that sits on your hair longer.

It makes HUGE differences depending on your hair type.

What do hair masks actually do?

They help a lot with most of the common issues you have with your hair.

Dry hair, frizz, rough textures, and even winter damage.

What is it best for?

Wavy hair
Curly hair
Bleached hair
Thick hair

There are some different versions of hair masks that can help with a lot of different things.
Repair masks “protein”
Bond repair masks.

How often should I use it?

If you have straight hair I’d say use it once a week.
Curly, thick and dry hair
2x a week.

How do I use a hair mask properly?

Shampoo first.
Make sure to get out any extra water from your hair!
Apply to mid-length ends, use a comb thoroughly, make sure to be gentle.
Leave it on for 5-15 minutes.
After the time is up rinse thoroughly.
And that’s it.
Make sure to do it right for the hair type you have.

Masks are also helpful for styling and can improve it.
They aren’t only for repair and improvement they can help with aesthetic hairstyles that might fix your face shape.
Also if you want to you can one up the hair masks with overnight oils.

Extra things that WILL help. (MUST READ)

Apply it to DAMP hair. do NOT ignore this.
If you have soaking wet hair the masks will get diluted and won’t absorb properly.

Shampoo. Dry hair lightly. Mask.
Don’t put the mask onto your scalp.
Most of the masks aren’t made for the scalp/roots.
Warm water > cold water.
Others will tell you different but trust me. Warm water is better.

Where to buy hair masks?

You can buy them at Sephora or pretty much any other place that is close.
Links: https://www.k18hair.com (this is where I get mine from.)

But you can also get them at places like Amazon, Ulta, Shoppers and many other places.
Also if you’re buying in stores it’s a lot better cuz you can ask for help and they’d be able to recommend one for your hair type.

Keratin mogs this too. Apply leave in conditioner and do Keratin at home and you'll have better results than this could ever give you.
