1. Bioelectric Signaling: We can send bioelectric signals to cells to reshape at the microscopic level, we can control tissue growth and reshaping what’s already there. It could potentially be used to reopen developmental pathways, though this is still very early research. Michael Levin from Tufts University (my school btw) discovered this technology and is currently being used in trials to stimulate mandibular growth, or a free bimax without the need for surgery. This is like a safer more effective technology for potentially remodeling the whole skull for aesthetics vs Crispr that has consequences for your offspring etc if you use it incorrectly. Imagine making your subhuman chud skull a chad in a couple months. This is the shit that will do it. It can also regrow limbs to grow taller, or even use it to give u a better frame.
2. Crispr Gene editing: it’s a long ways away for Gene editing in adults for aesthetic ascensions, but in a few decades likely by the end of this century we will see germline editing for facial ratios/proportions, height, coloring, iq, etc. Crispr Cas 12 is currently in trials to make ultra precise edits that only effect one gene without effecting others which could be potentially dangerous, so we could pick and choose carefully and precisely what we want our sons and daughters to look like.
3. Synthetic Gene Circuits & Synthetic Developmental Programs: Instead of editing with Crispr, we could create synthetic gene circuits and embryonic pathways that are “synthetic” which could trick our bodies to switch on developmental pathways that were only on when in the womb or in development. With this technology, we could essentially bypass limits with Crispr and fully change our proportions, height, and even more. This is already being studied at universities like Stanford and Harvard.
4. Bone modulation drugs, Crispr edit injections: We could inject into target areas how big to grow and what shape to grow in in. This could be huge! No more romo or hgh harmony-descension coping!
5. I’m too lazy to go on but bioengineered scaffolding is gonna be huge and that’s coming the soonest but it’s like doing reshaping and growing new bone in your face overtime with stem cells in all the right shapes for the perfect fit. This might be more popular than surgery come 20 years, but I think cosmetic skull redesign won’t be until later probably.
6. Bioengineered replacement: This is a huge one also, and is what transhumanists talk about the most! Modular replacements overtime are feasible for the long term, but it may face trouble when trying to reshape the cranial vault for aesthetic improvements. The technologies at the top are more likely to do this better. But we’ll see, if it happens on a nanoscale with nanobots it could very well be safe enough to reshape the whole skull.
7. Ultrasound: I think it has its positives as it is non invasive, but it can really only change density vs actually remodeling
