Real friendships dont end. If a bond can fade completely, if people can turn into strangers, then that connection was never deep to begin with. Time, distance, and change don’t destroy whats real, they reveal what wasnt. A real friend connects to who you are, not to a shared routine, a phase, or convenience. When everything is stripped away and nothing remains, that absence proves it. Things that matter leave a trace. If there’s nothing left, there was never something solid there to begin with.
People need to understand this because it changes how they interpret loss. Not every ending is a tragedy, and not every person who leaves was ever truly a friend. The unsettling but liberating truth is that there was never a true bond to lose when someone vanishes without concern, effort, or acknowledgement. Understanding this keeps people from romanticising absence, blaming themselves for the apathy of others, or holding onto convenient memories. It enhances discernment. It teaches that loneliness isn't always about losing people; sometimes it's about being able to see them clearly at last.
