yeah. the original Christian elites would loan money from their banks eventually making them rich. These families would often become intertwined through wealth and often daughter's are given from a lower family (the Jews, since they're only rich from the elites using their banks) and Judaism is passed down maternally making many elites Jewish by their cultural standards but still living as "Christians" to the public.

these people are mainly Ashkenazi btw, that's why so many people will get that on DNA tests despite not having any knowledge of a Jew in their family.
