Blood glucose during exercise and also giving energy to glucose dependent tissues like red blood cells, brain etc
Glycolysis does the same exact thing

Don’t carbs cause you to retain water tho? Not that I don’t eat carbs, but after a high carb meal my face is visually puffy

No it’s not glucose that does this. See glucose attracts water intramuscularly,1g of glucose draws 3-4g of water into a muscle. Now this dosen’t mean bloat because bloat is subcutaneous water retention and we’re talking about a muscular water retention that makes your muscles look fuller and better. Whenever you consume carbs, insulin spikes and the more circulatory insulin you generally have the more it will bind with sodium reuptake channels in the kidneys. In simplified terms, the higher the insulin levels the more insulin will make you reabsorb the sodium stored in the kidneys into the rest of the body. Carbs such as pastries, bread and general grain products have high levels of sodium in pair with carbs which contribute to this, carb sources such as fruit for example barely contains sodium therefor not contributing to excess sodium concentration in cells.

Glutathione regeneration via PPP
TR receptor sensitivity
increased T4 to T3 conversion
lower SHBG
lower baseline cortisol
signals for hormone synthesis
NAD+ regulation
Increased butyrate from consumption of RSs
ATP/O2 pr rate

Name more benefits that amino acid conversion (gluconeogenesis) than glycolysis itself. It also takes a very fucking long time to enter gluconeogenesis, you’d run on ketones for months first which is dogshit energy source.
Wdym “it takes a very long time to enter gluconeogenesis”, if it did you would get hypoglycemia the moment your glycogen stores got depleted

Also gluconeogenesis isn’t only from amino acid conversion, that is just one possible pathway

And the benefit of relying on gluconeogenesis over exogenous glucose would be lower/more stable blood sugar levels (for the sake of reducing the damaging effects of high glucose, for example)
