When it comes to people developing extremely well despite the worst habits, it’s clear to say “It’s just genetics”. But that’s simply a poor and extremely simplified explanation as to why this happens.

What is genetic canalization in the first place?
Genetic canalization is an important factor into making sure your genes have outcome to produce a consistent phenotype. The capability and efficiency genetic canalization varies from person to person,in short a more efficient genetic canalization gives a more predictable outcome of how you’re genes are supposed to determine what you’ll end up being.

Despite any enviormental factors,genetic canalization will make sure that you will produce a consistent phenotype. The human body works by switching into cycles,catabolic,anabolic etc depending on what kind of situation you have going on over a prolonged time period. Again to explain,What is developmental stability in short?
Developmental stability plays a general role,it is closely tied to genetic canalization in similarity. It’s just the capability or an organism to resist the against developmental disturbances. It just means how well your genes reacts to internal and external stress.

A stronger developmental stability determines how well your body reacts to disturbances during development. This can mean all sorts of things but we’re mainly going to use stress as an example. There isn’t much to explain about this since it’s way simpler to understand.

Weak developmental stability: Your body is poor at handling and resisting stress,causing difficulty in supporting genetic canalization and general epigenetic and genetic expression.
