The reason why people like zayn malik have an ideal looking eye area despite their esr being unideal, is because he has a small skull. Skull circumference is a huge factor in how perceived eye spacing is occurred. Basically, the skull is a 3d structure, so 2d measurements don’t tell the whole story as to how a specific feature will look on someone’s face irl

Because zayn’s skull circumference is below average, his below average ipd still looks ideal because the eyes appear larger compared to the overall skull. If you were to move his eyes further apart, then you would have to make his skull taller and wider and then you would just get a completely different person.

What I’m trying to say, base 2d ratios are a pretty good indicator of harmony, but that’s assuming the person’s skull falls under the average size and circumference.

People with below average skull size can get away with things such as a low esr, meanwhile people with very large skulls can get away with wider set eyes from my experience of measuring.

Even people like Ian somerhalder, his esr was a flaw on the basic 2d measurement system but because he has a raw below male average skull size, his eyes appear larger compared to the whole picture, thus making it appear ideal.

I am working on a way to incorporate raw skull size and circumference into a formulaic way, so the ideal ranges have more of a range depending on whether you have a below or above average skull size

Obviously, this can only go so far, and extremely close set ipd will still look awful on a really tiny bug skull. But if you look at every good looking guy that has below average eye spacing, 9/10 it’s because they have a smaller head than the average adult male

DNR u seem smart but give him ideal esr on his current skull, he will look better
No he will not, then his midface would become squished, and then his ocd to zygo width would become not ideal, and basically u would have to change so much of his skull structure that it wouldn’t be him anymore.

The point isn’t that unideal ipd looks better on small skulls as opposed to ideal ipd, it’s that smaller skulls can get away with closer set ipd generally because of how large the eyes appear compared to the whole picture

read every molecule and i completely agree, at the end of the day people see us in a 3d perspective, which photos sometimes because of many distortion factors fail to take into account, I'm surprised i had never seen someone else talk about this before, realistically speaking even if not ideal on paper if it looks good that should be the important factor, not if it is supposed to be mathematically flawed, as it doesn't take into account other details that thus seem to make it look ideal or look good.

do you think its directly because of a smaller skull or because a smaller skull means a larger pfl and pfw compared to the skull?
