Guide Vaseline for Eyebrows, Eyelashes + Other Uses
I ripped an old Lookism thread recently and posted it here, and saw comments regarding Vaseline being cope for the specific use cases that were mentioned so I thought I'd make a guide on what Vaseline can be used for and how it actually works.

What can we use it for?
The main use case is the lips, but we can also use it as an overnight facemask, and a way to enhance eyebrows and eyelashes through moisture locking.
There is no scientific evidence showing that Vaseline grows brows & eyelashes per se, but this is simply because it hasn't been looked into, the claim is yet to be disproved. Nonetheless, Vaseline can make the eyebrows and eyelashes look fuller temporarily.

Eybrows + Eyelashes
For eyelashes, putting them on overnight is best, as you want to be doing minimal activity to decrease the risk of it going into your eyes. You can apply in whichever way you would like, using a mascara pen or clean hands. As mentioned before there isn't much research at all behind this so I will include the one article I've seen that talks about this as an actual way of increasing/thickening eyelashes: https://www.beautyepic.com/vaseline-on-eyelashes/

For eyebrows it is similar to eyebrow gel, the theory behind it is that it promotes hydration intradermally which in turn promotes hair follicle growth around the area, as well as giving an almost immediate fuller look to your eyebrows as soon as you apply it, putting on a very small amount of Vaseline onto the eyebrows, yet again using a mascara pen or clean hands can immediately make eyebrows fuller looking and a few shades darker.

Facemask
Surprisingly, this doesn't require much explanation, Vaseline being petroleum jelly locks in moisture, this can lock in any retinoids or creams which you use at night to ensure maximum absorption, it also acts as an all-night barrier protection + moisturising combo, similar to a Hyaluronic Acid overnight face mask. Now the internet does tend to fear monger and tell you that you will experience breakouts using Vaseline if you have oily skin, but unless you haven't cleansed properly this, in most cases, won't happen, this is anecdotal but applying retinol at night along with a Vaseline face mask ascended my skin much quicker than JUST Retinol, it allowed my skin to maximise absorption of retinol and get the full potential out of it.

This in no way means Vaseline is law. But if it aids in absorption making your skin ascend quicker as a result, it is a useful tool for the price.

Not enough research to bother putting on enough vaseline to qualify as a  facemask & get petroleum jelly all over your pillowcase & bed JFL

Also you should've talked about it's stylistic properties with eyebrows & eyelashes. It's a quick-and-easy solution to enhance aesthetics in this area

This is fact lmao

i get the mechanisms and blah blah; yes, it could (and like stated, will) help with skin etc, but genuinely, who the fuck wants vaseline all over themselves? Maybe I'm just aspie but I'd kill myself if i woke up with oily industrial grade slop all over my bed & face. Vaseline is quite a "heavy" product and this would send me into a homicidal rage
