Ive had so many people talking to me that mention tren as a dht derivative
I do not know where this myth has stemmed from but I thought id clear it up
Tren is a 19-nor steroid
A 19-nor steroid is a steroid molecule derived from testosterone in which the carbon atom at the 19th position has been removed.
In testosterone, carbon-19 is just a small methyl group sitting at the junction of the A and B rings. it slightly collapses and reshapes the steroid backbone. That tiny geometric change ends up mattering a lot for how the molecule behaves in the body.
Once carbon-19 is gone, you get the 19-nor steroids. These compounds grip the androgen receptor more efficiently for their size and no longer behave like “clean” testosterone analogs. They cross-talk with other nuclear receptors, especially the progesterone receptor, in ways testosterone usually doesn’t. Downstream, this shows up as stronger suppression of natural testosterone production and a noticeably different subjective profile—libido, mood, motivation, and overall neurochemistry often feel distinct rather than just “more androgenic.”
