Sugar is really fearmongered, in really it is simply a carb, just like any other carb like rice or pasta.

The biggest difference between sugar and most other carbs is that sugar is 100% carbohydrate, and things like rice contain other nutrients and protein. But sugar is literally pure carbohydrate.

Sugar has a GI index similar to bread.

Unlike rice, sugar is not 100% glucose, it is sucrose, which is half glucose half fructose. Glucose goes into your bloodstream and elevates your blood sugar, fructose goes through your liver and either turns into stored glucose for future use or starts producing fat cells.

Note: SUGAR DOES NOT CAUSE DIABETES MORE THAN ANY OTHER CARB! Also, growth hormone substances counter these effects by raising insulin sensitivity.

You can ask chatgpt, it will tell you the exact same thing. The "downsides" of sugar is that it makes you gain weight quickly and can make you fat. This can be a good or a bad thing. Depends if you are trying to gain weight or not.

Also keep in mind, sugar isn't good for you. It's just not bad for you. It has no nutrients, it is literally just energy for your body. You shouldn't eat sugar for no reason because why would you raise your blood sugar if you don't need to. Only do it before a workout or something to give your body enough energy.

Sugar mogs anyway. Every day I drink chocolate milk or eat candy bars and I feel great. There's a reason honey was so valuable back then when they discovered it.
