I want to share my problem.
When I try to fall asleep on my back, right before I fall asleep, I stop breathing. I can't breathe for 2–3 seconds, then I wake up in a panic, turn on my side, and fall asleep. On my side, nothing like that happens.
Could this be apnea?

You only need to sleep on your back if you have a ludicrous symmetry. If not just sleep in your most comfortable position.
