(THEME SONG OF THIS THREAD)

oh dear hoodsickle hoodsickle you will be missed. i can only now hope you've ascended to chad and left this all behind
I don’t even really know how to start this, because it still feels weird logging in and not seeing Hoodsickle’s name anywhere.

It’s strange how someone you’ve never met in real life can become such a constant presence in your day. A username in a thread. A random reply at 2AM. A sarcastic comment under a heated debate. And somehow that becomes… familiar. Comforting, even.

Hoodsickle wasn’t just “another forum user.” They were part of the atmosphere. The rhythm of the place. You could scroll through a long argument and just know when a Hoodsickle reply was coming — thoughtful, sharp, sometimes chaotic, sometimes hilarious, but always real.

And now it’s just… quiet.

It’s not even about agreeing with everything they said. Half the time people didn’t. That was the point. They challenged ideas. They pushed conversations further than they would’ve gone. They weren’t scared to say what they thought, even if it meant getting dogpiled or misunderstood. That kind of presence keeps a space alive.

Forums aren’t just code and servers and rules. They’re people. And when someone who shaped the culture disappears, you feel the gap. It’s like a chair at a table that nobody sits in anymore.

Hoodsickle made the late-night threads better.
Made the dumb meme posts funnier.
Made the serious discussions deeper.
Made the chaos entertaining instead of exhausting.

There’s something kind of tragic about how fast it happens too. One day someone’s arguing about something completely random, the next day they’re gone. No buildup. No goodbye thread. Just a banned tag and silence.

And yeah, rules are rules. Moderation exists for a reason. But that doesn’t mean we can’t acknowledge what someone brought to the space before they left. People aren’t just their worst moment.

What I’ll remember most is the energy. The unpredictability. The way a simple notification with their name could mean a three-paragraph breakdown, a dry one-liner, or something completely unhinged but somehow insightful.

You don’t realize how much someone contributes until they’re not there anymore.

Scrolling feels different.
Threads feel shorter.
Arguments feel flatter.

It’s weird to miss someone you never technically “knew.” But that’s what online communities are — little digital neighborhoods. And when one of the loudest, most distinct voices disappears, you notice.

So this is just a small tribute to Hoodsickle.

For the debates.
For the sarcasm.
For the chaotic energy.
For the moments that made the forum feel alive.

Whether you loved them, argued with them, or muted them — they left a mark.

And that matters.

Wherever you are on the internet now, I hope you’re still typing paragraphs that make people roll their eyes and think at the same time.

The forum won’t be the same without you.
And honestly?
It’s going to feel a little emptier for a while.
