here is my brief explanation why I think hypergamy is lie

The Paradox:
So Even when men prioritize looks and women prioritize status, the end result is almost always homogamy (matching with your own tier)

The Math: If a high status man (Tier 1) marries a lower-status but highly attractive woman (Tier 2 status, Tier 1 looks), he has effectively "married down" in status and married up in looks.

The Catch: This means a high-status woman (Tier 1) also has to marry down to a man who is lower in status but has higher physical appeal to match her own attractiveness.

So even if the women has lower status but higher looks : her overall value and combined desirability would equal to the overall values of the man.

This would eliminate hypergamy and would efficiently create homogamy
