We're gonna be discussing on how to mask neurodivergence to fit in with others on this thread.
Questions:
ACTUAL METHOD ON HOW TO MASK:
first, You need to list out the things that make it obvious that you're neurodivergent & why you're facing that problem. It could be difficulties with eye contact due to overstimulation, Or difficulties in figuring out social cues or tones, Etc.
After you're done listing it, Here's how to mask the problem:
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
A therapist also exists if this guide doesn't help you out. I think it's a pretty mid guide tbh. I'll be making more soon though. [/SPOILER]
Questions:
Masking neurodivergence is hiding that you are neurodivergent to fit in with other normies.
Can't read social cues, Can't hold eye contact, Having weird / "niche" interests, Overall looking like a complete & total weirdo.
I just added this spoiler to stretch the thread out LOL. But if you really don't know, A neurodivergent person is someone who's brain works differently from others, making it harder for them to socialize. Individuals who are neurodivergent might have autism, aspergers, ASPD, Etc. Anything disorders that make your brain different from normies.

After you're done listing it, Here's how to mask the problem:
If you have difficulties in maintaining eye contact, Try conversating about things that require minimal eye contact. For example, You're showing someone an item, or etc. You can also hide the fact that you can't maintain eye contact by taking breaks. An example of this is pretending to rub your eye or pretending to stare at something. If these methods don't work, You can redefine eye contact by just staring at their nose bridge, forehead, or eyebrows.
Start studying about them since social cues are "signals" that people give to emit emotion, A tip i'm gonna give is learn patterns about the person. You can try analyzing the sentence structure as long as it doesn't make you look like a weirdo.
The goal here is to mask your ACTUAL interests but you also wanna look like you're not a basic person. I suggest watching popular movies / shows / etc. Make sure your fake interests are something that people WOULD actually like. Be open minded & think "what would people like?" in the social situation you're in.
