Its a really cool feature and people with a certain amount of rep/posts could make their own groups if you wanted, the group membership selection would be a new section on the user settings tab like in lookism:

Either you have them send a request to join the groups or they just join when they click join.


Each group would have a badge (which I can make) that would display on the users profile and on their comments under their avi like so:
