Some people like to cope by saying muhh hair color doesn’t matter muhh it’s all about your facial attraction, but this simply isn’t true and is backed up by multiple tests/studies. I ran a poll in this forum about a week ago asking which hair color do users perceive as more feminine/sexually dimorphic in women’s favor. To no surprise, blonde hair won.
Outside of only this forum, blonde tends to get chosen as the more attractive hair color and it’s trended this way for awhile now. Here I’ve provided a quote from a study that may explain why men tend to prefer blonde/light-haired women:
“Women’s hair can also signal their relative age and reproductive potential. Hair color is generally lightest earlier in life, tending to gradually darken as one ages until it begins to turn white or gray (Etcoff 1999). In addition, during and immediately after a pregnancy, a woman’s hair often becomes more brittle, coarse, and in some cases darker (Symons 1995), potentially signaling reproductive unavailability. If light-colored hair is associated with youth and health, then men should prefer women with hair of this type (Hypothesis 2). Research shows that when asked to associate personal characteristics with specific hair colors, men more often associate beauty with blond-haired women than with women of any other hair color (Lawson 1971).”

Men simply want more youthful and healthy women that indicate fertility, which is exactly what blonde is perceived as by men. There’s theories that date back to 1978 which suggest men naturally seek women that are youthful and healthy as I just said, which ties into the color of hair (cough, cough, blonde hair) Here’s another quote:
“Evolutionary theories suggest that women generally desire men who are willing to support them and their children with resources and skills. These traits may be signaled with darker hair that is associated with maturity and stability (Feinman and Gill 1978). In contrast, men tend to seek women who are youthful and healthy so that they can bear healthy children. Lighter-colored hair on women may signal youth and health, and relate to reproductive potential (Hinsz et al. 2001).”

The benefit of having blonde hair as a woman can even be seen in real-life situations. When the same woman was asked to hitchhike while wearing three different wig colors (blonde, black, and red) the woman had more men ask her if they wanted a ride when she was wearing a blonde wig. While this doesn’t account for the time of day or other factors that may increase/decrease the responses that the subject gets in each wig, it still helps us develop the idea that blonde women may naturally be “more attractive” to men. Here’s the quote + source where I reference what I’m stating from:
“Guéguen cites a previous study, in which blond female door-to-door fundraisers received more donations than their brunette counterparts. Another study found waitresses with blond hair got more tips. And in yet another previous study, female subject in their early twenties, were asked to hitchhike while wearing a blond, brown or black wig. Blond, compared to brown or black hair was associated with more male drivers stopping to offer rides. No effect from hair color was found on female drivers who stopped.”

In an area that’s densely populated such as nightclubs, where men are constantly soliciting women that they’re interested in, blondes also received the most attention compared to brunettes, redheads, and black-haired women. The numerical difference between the subject in a blonde wig in comparison to the subjects in the other colored wigs is rather astonishing. A 51.19% increase from the number of men that went up to the subject in a brown wig was seen in the number of men that went up to the subject in a blonde wig. This is rather drastic and isn’t a small result, but rather important to contributing to my argument that blonde women are naturally the most attractive to men. Again, here’s the quote + source:
“In Guéguen’s most recent research, a female confederate of the experimenter sat in a nightclub for one hour, while researchers monitored how many men approached her. The experiment was carried out on 16 different nights in a 4-week period. So each confederate tested four different wigs four times. Overall,127 men approached the women wearing blond wigs, 84 men approached women wearing brown wigs, 82 went up to women wearing black wigs but only 29 approached women with red wigs.”

As you can see throughout the evidence I’ve provided, overfuel is at its peak for redheaded women. They’re naturally associated with pale skin, poor undertones, transparent eyebrows, freckles, low contrast, etc. They’re put in the worst light by men in mainstream media, as they often rank redheads last in terms of their attraction to women and their hair colors.
Blondes have received more positive attention and courtship from men, while redheaded women have received less attention in general and more refusals in acts of solicitation.
In conclusion, a hair color can’t be objectively superior/more attractive than another hair color as you or someone you know may prefer brunettes or may prefer redheads more than blondes. While hair colors such as blonde are associated with certain neotenous cues (youthful traits) and brunettes can be associated with maturity according to some men and their occurrence in the work field.
I started this on Monday, but realistically could’ve finished this in like an hour or two but I just fell into a research pit.
